4. HOW THE APPLICATION WORKS:
The application should typically be run on the server. You can also run it on any system that is on your network. You can launch the settings screen by choosing the shortcut under programs menu.
You have to provide the settings for the application to connect with ConnectWise and Active Directory. This is a one time setup. Here you save the ConnectWise settings such as the Web Server Path, Username, Password and Company. The web server path is typically https://yourserver.com/v4_6_release/api/1.5/. The Username and Password needs to have the API role enabled for Contacts and Companies API. Click here to see details of the setup or call us. You can use the same Integration credentials on all servers.
The Active Directory settings such as Authentication Type, Server, Username and Password need to be saved. The Authentication Type will be "Integrated" or "User Account". The Integrated authentication will be the default which will use the credentials of the user that is running the application. You have to provide a domain Username and Password to use the "User Account" type of authentication. The server name will be auto filled. Change this if the system you are running from is not your domain controller.
Click "Save" to store and update the settings.
You can use the "Upload" button on screen to upload immediately after saving the settings.
You can also use the command line switch "/u" to enable a silent upload of users. Create a scheduled task on the server with this command line switch and schedule it to run once a day. |
