INTRODUCTION
GC - BlackBerry Application for ConnectWise is a really neat application for ConnectWise users that have a BlackBerry. You can now experience the power of ConnectWise on the road remotely using your BlackBerry. Using this application you can
- Search for Contacts in ConnectWise and view contact details
- Search for Service Tickets, view Ticket details, add notes or resolve them, Update Time against Service Tickets and view time entry details.
- Create new activity in ConnectWise.
- Enter time against Service Tickets
HOW THE APPLICATION WORKS
Once the application is installed you will see a new icon in your Applications folder.

Open the Application and you will have three options:
- Login
- Settings
- Cancel

You need to update the application settings for the first time. Click Settings and here you will need to provide the ConnectWise Server Path, Username, Password, Company, Serial number and Member ID. This is a one-time setup. The webserver path is typically http://mydomainname/v4_6_Release/services/system_io/integration_io.asmx. The username and password need to be setup in ConnectWise. After entering these settings click Save.

Click on Login, to login to the application. Here you have five options:
- Contacts
- Service Tickets
- Add Activity
- Time Entry
- Exit

Contacts
Here you can search for contacts in your ConnectWise database. You can search using Company Name, First Name, Last Name and Contact Type. The available contact types are Decision Maker, or Evaluator. All the fields perform like a search and you can enter any part of the name you are looking for.

Enter any combination of search parameters and click "Search". This will return the search results based on your input.

Beside each search result you will notice 3 options.
- View Contact Details
- Edit Contact
- Call
1. View Contact Details:This is the first button. Clicking on this will display the full contact details. On this same page you have the option to Call the contact or E-mail the contact.

2. Edit Contact:The second button is to edit the contact. Here you can edit the contact's name, address, city, state, zip, e-mail.

3. Call: The third button is Call. You can call the contact using this button.
Service Tickets
This is the second module of the application. Here you can search for service tickets in ConnectWise. You can search using Company Name, Contact Name, Status, Type and Priority.
The status available are
- New
- Assigned
- Open
- In Progress
- Not responded
- Responded
- Plan of Action
- Cancel
- Closed
Type searches available are
You can also search for one of the following priorities
- Emergency Response
- Quick Response
- Normal response
- Scheduled Maintenance

Enter your search criteria and click search, this will get the filtered Service ticket list.

On each service tickets you have four options.
- View Ticket Details
- Change Ticket Status
- Update time against Service Tickets
- View Time Entry Details
1. View Ticket Details -This is the first icon. Clicking this will display the service ticket details.

2. Change Ticket Status -This is the second button. Here you can update the status of the ticket. Select the new status, enter any notes and Submit.

3.Update time against Service Tickets -This is the third button. Here you can update the time against service Tickets. Here you can give the ServiceID, for which you want to update time. You should also select the work type. And also you can set Add Notes to Resolution/Description and enter Notes.

4.View Time Entry Details -This is the fourth icon. Clicking this will display the service ticket time entry details.

Add Activity
This is the third module of the application. Here you can create new activity in connectwise. Here you enter the subject, select company, select date, select your team member to whom you want to assign it, add notes and click on submit. That is it. It adds an activity to connectwise.

Time Entry
This is the fourth module of the application. Here you can Enter time against Service Tickets in ConnectWise. Here you can give the ServiceID, for which you want to update time. You should also select the work type. And also you can set Add Notes to Resolution/Description and enter Notes.
The available Work types are
- Regular
- Travel
- Overtime
- Weekend

- I get an error "Error starting app, Module net_rim_ui_api not found.". What do I do? Check if your OS is version 5 or higher. If not please upgrade.
- I have entered all the settings correctly but when I click on Login I get an error that the Serial Number may be in correct.
Please check if APN settings are enabled on the device.
To check this under Menu -> Tools -> Advanced Settings -> TCP/IP Settings check if APN is Enabled and APN can be set to internet.com.
- When I click on Save Settings I get
"Error while saving settings. Error was java.lang.NullPointerException".
What do I do?
This error can occur on few models.The work around is to create a folder ConnectWise under Device Memory\home \user. Now save the Settings and it will be successful.
